Follow Sasha White through the streets of Paris and through time as she begins to unravel the mystery that unfolds in her life beginning with a strange blackbird pecking at her apartment window one night on the Left Bank.

Find out why Celine D'Aumont, president of Celgen Beauty company and Sasha's new boss, wants Sasha dead....again! Meet a new breed of Immortals in Book One of 'The Immortals' Trilogy.

REVIEW
A romantic, historical, fantasy set against the backdrop of Paris...what's not to love? But in private, right? That's what I thought at first but apart from the lush descriptions and the compelling story, the author engages in very gentle consideration about the meanings of beauty, aging, being human and being in the world. So while reading it may feel like a day in the chocolate store, those bonbons have a subtle protein punch. This book and the characters linger, I can't wait to see what happens next! Book inspired by Author's personal journey from an abusive relationship to empowerment.

About the Author

June Vivian Bourgo, born and raised in Montreal, currently lives in the beautiful British Columbia interior. Her publishing credits include feature articles for a single-parenting magazine. She finds her inspiration to write from the raw nature and wildlife surrounding her home. Winter s Captive, her debut novel, was inspired by her personal journey from an abusive relationship to empowerment. Her hope is that her readers will connect to her main character s plight on a personal level as well as be entertained.

Winter s Captive is a story of one woman s incredible survival against all odds in the Canadian northern wilderness, and her ensuing emotional and spiritual journey towards empowerment. In her novel, BC author June Bourgo presents her admirably heroic, yet real-to-life protagonist, Georgia Charles, who faces unimaginable adversity on her road to personal enlightenment. Recently separated from a cheating husband who left her for his pregnant mistress, a vulnerable and dejected Georgia leaves her North Vancouver home to spend a month with a childhood friend in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory. Her pleasant stay in Whitehorse takes an abrupt turn, however, when she is impulsively kidnapped by two bank robbers, only days after discovering that she was five months into her own pregnancy. Georgia flees her captors and ends up hopelessly lost and alone in the northern wilderness, miles away from civilization. But, with a will to survive fuelled by a mother s love for her unborn child, she trudges through the forest until she finds a cabin, locked up for the winter, yet stocked with enough provisions for a person to live on for a few months. With no hope of finding her way back to civilization until spring, Georgia must wait out the winter in the cabin, and during that time, give birth to her baby on her own. Written from Georgia s perspective, the majority of Bourgo s novel deals with her remarkable winter stay at the cabin. From the details of her everyday routine, to her encounters with wild animals, to the amazing solo birth of her daughter, Georgia s physical struggles are extraordinary. However, it is her mental struggles that pose the biggest threat to her survival, and it is her ability to deal with them that truly demonstrates her strength as a woman. The story of Georgia Charles s winter in the remote Canadian north is not only a compelling tale of survival, but also an amazing account of a woman s journey towards personal empowerment and spiritual enlightenment. June Bourgo s writing inspires readers to connect with her main character on a personal level, while urging them to examine and reflect upon the perceived myths and expectations of human relationships.
BOOK REVIEW
5.0 out of 5 stars A Book For All Ages
By Anne M.
Winter's Captive is an all too familiar story of love, betrayal, soul searching, and life altering changes. Add to this mixture a healthy dose of courage and survival with non-stop adventure amidst sweeping landscapes- and you have the recipe for a spellbinding book from cover to cover! The main character, Georgia, embodies the strengths and weaknesses of most modern women who limit their horizons by the strong pull of the latter. But when Georgia is thrust into a life or death struggle: it is her strengths that she must embrace and come to rely on! It is not only necessary for her survival, but that of her unborn child! And so, the adventure begins: alone in the vast wilderness of Northern British Columbia! It was very difficult to put this book down, without reading it to the last page! I would recommend this book to everyone! It reads as a five star epic to me! I impatiently await the release of June bourgo's sequel!

Second book coming soon.

Ella Meldler - An Indie Author on a Mission!

It’s years later than it should have been, but I’m ready to tell you something about me. My need to write is worse than starving for oxygen. Without it, I wouldn't exist. With it, it’s all I can do, to keep writing, keep breathing. Like tip-toeing on a tightrope, as long as I write, I’m balancing, I’m alive and I’m happy.

I knew that back in my youth, when I took on the task of updating the school’s defunct ‘rag’, together with my best friend. I re-learned it later, when life shoved my nose roughly into the certainty of my own mortality.

A new project is like beginning a new life, to me. For as long as I do different things, I transform, I grow. The minute I stop, I go stale.

This need for complete renewal is what pushed me to try so many ideas, in so many genres. I’ve got Martin Little, Resurrected, which is a light-hearted fantasy; The Hunter Series of action thrillers, which will be completed later this year; The Eternal Series of paranormal romance, co-written with K.S. Haigwood; and my latest project, Not Juliet, the first in the Addicted To Love Romance Collection. On the back burner are several other ventures, ranging from non-fiction to conspiracy theories and even sci-fi.

When Becky Jensen's mother died on Christmas Eve a year ago, Becky stopped believing in Christmas.
When Becky’s father remarried four weeks ago to a woman old enough to be her sister, Becky stopped believing in family. An hour ago, when Becky thought there was nothing left to lose, Becky caught her high school sweetheart snogging her best friend down at the local pub in the ladies' loo. Standing alone in the park, staring up at the angel on top of the Christmas tree, Becky makes a wish that  changes her life forever…

The very next day, Becky is boarding a plane at Heathrow airport and jetting her way across the ocean to Australia to interview three authors. Friends since their twenties, the women are all now in their fifties. Not only does Becky learn about the lives of three incredible women, she also learns a lot about herself.

Young Adult Author - Tima Maria Lacoba (Bloodgifted & Bloodpledge)

Tima Maria Lacoba is on tour now with CLP Blog Tours and Bloodgifted

Summary:

How does a young woman live a normal life when she carries a rare genetic mutation? Descended from a cursed Roman soldier, Laura Dantonville has inherited the ability to delay aging but much of her past is unknown to her. That includes knowledge of her true parentage, and the fact that her unique blood is coveted by the secret community of vampires who reside in the eastern suburbs of Sydney. She later learns that it’s her blood alone that provides these creatures with the ability to tolerate daylight. As such, she is the epicenter of a power struggle between two rival vampire groups who want to claim her. The oldest and most powerful of these factions is led by Alec Munro, whose position as leader, or Princeps, gives him sole claim to Laura. Has she any other choice but to accept her destiny?

Author Bio:
Hi, I’m Tima Maria, and I write vampire books, but not just any vamp books – mine are Roman soldiers cursed by a Pictish witch in the 3rd century.
So, how did I start this series? In a previous life (before I started writing) I was a practicing archaeologist and historian, specializing in Roman Britain. Later, I took up high school teaching, as It gave me the opportunity to take my students on overseas excursions to visit the amazing archaeological sites they’d only seen in books.
Then one day, I surrendered to the itch of writing. After many years reading and correcting my students’ creative writing tasks and essays, I decided it was time to write my own. I couldn’t hold it in any longer. Bloodgifted is the result.

In 2011, it was shortlisted in the Atlas Award – sponsored by a boutique Brisbane publisher – and eventually came fourth. In 2012, it was listed among the top ten in the Choclit, Search for an Aussie Star Competition. In 2013, I was offered a publishing contract, but declined in favour of going indie. I liked the idea of being in charge of my own creation.

Bloodgifted is just the start of a three part series I’ve entitled, The Dantonville Legacy. Later, I intend writing individual books on the other characters in the series, for they all have their own story.

Currently, I live on the Central Coast, an hour’s drive north of Sydney, surrounded by wooded hills, possums and seed-dropping rosellas. Between bouts of writing, I teach English and History, enjoy long walks while dodging the nesting magpies and plot the next series of books I’d like to write.

Interview with Tima Maria Lacoba, author of Bloodgifted.

1) What is the weirdest request you’ve had from a fan?
Haven’t had one of those yet. I’m hoping it’ll happen though, and since I’m new on the scene and my fans are just starting to grow.

2) Why are there so many players if love is not a game?
Now what did Pat Bennettar say, “Love is a battlefield”? I can’t add more than that.

3) If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be?
Fabulous question! I’ve sometimes thought, what fun it would be to have the ability to turn criminals into useful and beautiful objects that would benefit the community. Things like – large shady trees and pergolas. No more crime!

4) What is your favorite daily wear attire?
I live in my comfy capris, cotton blouses and my designer thongs (flip-flops). They’re designer because I decorate them myself with beads, sequins and glitter glue. I can guarantee no one else in the world will have a similar pair!

5) Has the dog ever eaten your manuscript?
Sadly, I don’t have a dog, so I’ve never faced that problem. So the closest I’ve ever been to losing my manuscript is when my laptop crashed taking several days work with it. Thankfully, the techwizes in a local electronics shop retrieved it for me. I had to refrain from kissing them!

6) How many people have you killed in your books?
In BLOODGIFTED, the first in the Dantonvile series, I’ve only killed off three.

7) Why shouldn’t we take life seriously?
There are situations in life you must laugh at, as it’s a choice between that or hysterical tears. Life is serious – we’ve only got the one – but without a sense of humour you’ll age faster. Avoid the wrinkles, I say. Laugh!

8) Do you dance and sing naked, when no one else is around?
Yes! I just make sure the blinds are down so I don’t scare the neighbours away! There’s something so comfortable and liberating – as well as wickedly indulgent – in swanning around the house in the nude.

9) If you could go back to anytime in your life and relieve it. What would you do?
Relive a date with someone I knew when I was young, and say what I really felt instead of what I did say. It’s the classic ‘sliding doors’ situation; the ‘What if?’ Who knows how different my life would have been if I had only…

10) Do you have a cheat list? If so who is on it?
Now this one has me stumped! I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a cheat list. ?

11) Finally, who would play you in a film of your life?
It would have to be an Aussie actress, because no one else can reproduce our accent! I’d go for Cate Blanchett. She’s brilliant.

Out now: Laura's Locket.

A silver locket, a mysterious young man and a fated meeting.  When eighteen-year-old Laura Anne Dantonville goes on her end-of-school trip to Italy, she is accompanied by her two best friends, Beth and Angie. As soon as they arrive in Sorrento, she meets the mysterious—and devastatingly handsome—Philippe. He is gallant and charming, and Laura loses her heart. Their meetings are brief and secret, and Philippe gives her a lovely silver locket. She swears to wear it always. Until one night…
This short story takes place some years before BLOODGIFTED and reveals more of Laura and Philippe's history.
