Up Close & Personal with Author - Amy Richie Timeless: The Immortal Love Series

Picture "Timeless"
After the earth is crippled by the asteroid Jewell, vampires come to the aid of the survivors. Some only want to help, others merely want to protect their way of life. And some simply have to be stopped.

Eva was created for one purpose, to kill notorious vampire Dominick Letrell. Neleh has devised a plan that can not fail; travel back in time to when Dominick was his weakest and attack him there. Along with the help of David, the most intelligent vampire alive, the plan is set in motion. But then suddenly everything goes wrong and Eva is trapped in the past with no memory of why or how she got there. What happens when all the rules change?

Where were you born and where do you call home?
I was born in a tiny town in Northern Ohio and that is still where I call home!

What is the name of your most recent book and if you had to sum it up in 30 or less words, what would you say?
My debut novel is called "Timeless". It is a paranormal romance that tells the story of Eva who is created for the sole purpose of killing notorious vampire legend: Dominick Letrell. She travels abck to the 1200's to get him when he is most vulnerable but then she gets stuck there with no memories of why.

If you gave some of your characters an opportunity to speak for themselves, what would they say?
Dominick would say that he isn't as bad as Neleh would make him out to be, then he'd grin and give us his incredibly sexy one eyebrow lift.

Do you have plans for a new book?   Is this book part of a series?
This is the first in a six part series called the "Immortal Love Series"

What or who inspired you to write?  And how long have you been writing?
I guess I have always loved to write. In third grade me and a few friends started our own version of a school paper. But I have only begun to think of it as a "career" for about three years.

How did you come up with the title and cover design?
I wanted the titles to be synonyms of forever or immortal so this one is Timeless and the next five have similar meanings. The cover is just what I think Eva looks like.

Have you based any of your characters on someone you know, or real events in your own life?
Not really, but I have "borrowed" some names from work!

What books have most influenced your writing most and why?
I am a fan of the "Twilight" series just because I like that Stephanie Meyers had a dream and just began writing it out.

Is there an Author that you would really like to meet?
I would love to meet Ted Dekkar

Do you prefer ebooks, paperbacks or hardcover?
I prefer paperback.

Where do you prefer to buy your books?
Either online or at walmart...:)

Have you ever read a book more than once?
Absolutely. I love rereading books, it is like visiting an old friend.

Is there a particular movie that you preferred over the book version?
A Walk To Remember

What book are you currently reading and in what format (ebook/paperback/hardcover)?
I am reading The Pattern by Jane Peart in hardcover format

What book do you know that you will never read?
I don't like horror or extreme erotica

Is there anything you would change in your last book and why?
Not that I can think of. I like where the story went and I enjoyed writing about Eva and Dominick, seriously these two make me laugh.

Who designed the cover of your book?
Karen F. from world castle publishing

What are your thoughts on book trailers?
I like the idea of book trailers but some that I have seen are badly done, so if you are going to do one; make it nice!

Do you have any advice for other writers?
The best advice I can give is to not give up and to keep writing. You'll hear that a lot, but it is so important to just keep writing, don't give up on your book.

What is the best advice that you have ever been given when it comes to writing?
My aunt Kerry always gave me good advice. She told me that I was good enough to be published and said I needed to get my book out there. She died this past March and so will not get to see it become a reality, but she would have been proud.

Do you ever write in your PJ’s?
All the time!
Patti Says:  We should all get together and start a blog called "Writers Pajama Party".  So many of us write in our PJ's! Bloggers too :)

What are your pet peeves?
I hate a dirty counter, dirty fingernails, when the screen door is left hanging open, half empty pop cans, not rinsing the dirty dishes off, when people call me Aim (Amy is not that long!!!)

Cats or dogs?
I used to like dogs but then I became an adult and had to clean up after one so now I like cats.

Patti Says: I'm with you on that one!

Coffee or tea?
Tea. I hate coffee. I think it all stems back to early childhood when I was tricked by a coffee flavored jelly bean. I never got over that.

Favorite food?
Macoroni and cheese, and not ONLY because you can get it for 33 cents!!

Vanilla or chocolate icecream?
chocolate.

What do you normally eat for breakfast?
I don't normally do breakfast; not a morning person.

Patti Says: I hear you :)

What are 4 things you never leave home without?
my notebook, pen, my wallet, housekey

Laptop or desktop for writing?
desktop.

Where and when do you prefer to do your writing?
I like to write in notebooks. I think there is nothing better than a new notebook, and I usually write at work on my breaks. It is quieter there.

If you were deserted on an island, who are 3 famous people you would want with you?
Famous people? Josh Halloway, Ted Dekkar, Drew Barrymore
Josh kicked butt on Lost, Ted would be interesting to talk to, and Drew is really funny

One of your favorite quotes - "I had no shoes and I complained until I met a man who had no feet." - unknown

List 3 of your all time favorite books?
Incident at hawks Hill, This Present Darkness, Harry Potter

List 3 of your all time favorite movies?
Grease, Pride and Prejudice, Wives and Daughters

An actor you have a crush on -

Is your book in Print, ebook or both? Both!!

New Cover Art

Picture I love the new cover. It adds that it is part of a series. I am very excited about the Letrell brothers.  I joined goodreads today. I am not sure how to navigate the site very well yet, but I am sure I'll see some of you there!!

Book Cover

My mother always taught me not to judge a book by its cover but I am starting to realize how wrong this statement is. Without a good cover, you have a problem. Just a random thought as I was perusing some other books to read online.
Thank you so much for taking the time to do this interview with me and allowing us a glimpse into your writing word.

I hope you share this interview with your friends so we can all get to know you a little better.  Patti
