Have you read the books, seen the movie? What did you think - was it as good as you expected it to be?

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder—much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It’s hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing—not even a smear of blood—to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?
This is Clary’s first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It’s also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace’s world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know...
Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clare’s ferociously entertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end.

This movie is a must see!!! The action is phenomenal and even the changes that are made, because hey...it is a movie, flow perfectly and still stuck to the plot perfectly.
ReplyDeleteIf you haven't seen it, you definitely should.

Better Read Than Dead
loved it!
DeleteI was actually afraid to watch it after the 12% rating on rotten tomatoes.

I loved it!
DeleteI adore the books - all of them - so was very nervous about the film. I took my kids and they loved it but I have to say, I prefer the book over the movie. Having said that, I went to see it twice and will be buying the DVD! My 11yr old daughter has posters of Jamie all over her wall so I better vote for a 2nd movie or she'll never forgive me!
ReplyDeleteI have read most of the books and loved the movie version... Hope they make the second into a movie too.
DeleteMy daughter is a freak about the series ... and hated the movie. She and a friend sat and ripped it to pieces. I saw the movie without reading the book first and thought Jace was creepy and Clary was stupid and weak and really didn't enjoy it. Then I read the book and was amazed at how different they were in the book -- the book series is fantastic. I give a thumbs down to the movie, but a thumbs up to the books.
ReplyDeleteI always try to read the book before I watch the movie (and the movie always disappoints in comparison) but this time round I watched the movie first - and I loved it! Now I desperately want to read the books, and I really hope there is another movie too.
