Kensey's Story: Meeting Death [kindle] Nellee Horne (Author)

14 year old Kensey is on vacation. Vacation that suddenly turned better... or maybe worse. Her little brother and new friend force her to climb down a long, dark well. What she finds down there... is another world inhabited by mythical creatures.

Centaurs, Pixies, Vampires, Wizards, Lycanthropes, and a lot more. She meets a Fairy, Marcus, and lots of new friends... as well as enemies. Enemies that want her heart-broken, off guard, and dead. One way to achieve that goal is to kill one of her new friends, someone that was more than just a friend.

To counteract that goal, she promises her new family that she will bring him back to life by, somehow, journeying to the Kingdom in the Sky, a legendary, fabled location where the souls of the dead are transported. Will she make it there?

Or will the haunting, yet enchanting, Hooded Figure kill her in the process for infecting his world with Humans?

Reader comment:
I must admit I'm not a big fan of fantasy type novels. That said, Kensey's Story: Meeting Death has, at least in part, changed my mind about the genre.

Kensey's Story is an exciting and intriguing novel about a teenaged girl who finds an opening into another world. It not only introduces the reader to a new world full of interesting creatures, the descriptions of the creatures and their way of life are detailed enough to imagine that they really do exist. The characters and plot are both well developed and the action will keep the reader turning pages to find out what happens next. One scene will have you laughing and the next will have you feeling the sadness and loneliness being experienced by the characters. The book has something for everyone ... humor, horror, romance, and much more.

While I probably won't be running up my credit card with a long list of fantasy novels, I will be buying and reading the subsequent novels in this series. Nellee Horne is a talented young writer and Kensey's Story: Meeting Death is a must read novel for both teenagers and adults. - Sheila Rae Myers, Author
